Greetings Every One! The work we are doing could not continue without you. We are very grateful for your support and help. Every single prayer and donation is appreciated more than you can know. Thank you so very much for your support. A note from Rutury: Que Tuma Aku. Greetings dear friends! In the Wixarika culture there is a legend that speaks of all the living things that we have in our world. This legend is only told at night with the support of the community and with a fire vigil all night long until sunrise, and depending how many elders are reciting the legend, it can take from 3 to 6 weeks. Today I will share a tiny part of that legend with all of you. Since the beginning of Earth’s formation, rocks have been a vital part of keeping our Earth intact. Both possess a tremendous force of energy and together they form a great source of solidity without overpowering or possessing each other. They understand that their energy is to support one another and not to show who is more powerful. Truly this is a great example for the human tribe. Some of the rocks are precious gems and thousands of years ago were used to heal the body and to purify our spirit. Those precious gems have always had value but not a value the way we see it today. Other rocks also have a different purpose in life, and many of them through their shape and colors tell a story. When we tune in we can actually capture a message from the rocks, which is not conveyed in the words we speak, but rather it is communicated in the nature of attraction, how we notice the rock, where it is, and the color and the shape. When we take the time to look at them, something in us begins to respond or perhaps even resuscitate, and for reasons that we cannot explain we end up taking them home, or did the rock take us home? Today we use rocks to decorate our front or back yards at our homes, but looking beyond decorative aspects they bring us protection, harmony, and a continual casting out of negative energy. This is how it continues to be with our Earth, always helping, always there unconditionally. So next time you see a rock that calls your attention, stop for a moment and say thank you for who you are. Pom Pa Dios Rutury A note from Nahwi July 15th, 16th & 17th Workshop & Ceremony As the notice that went out late last month stated, we are moving the venue for this workshop to Sebastopol. It will not be at Salt Point State Park. So if you have made room reservations or RV reservations please cancel them. We could not be guaranteed that we would be able to have a fire, and that is essential for the Ceremony. If you have any questions or concerns: Please contact Nahwi at [email protected] or you can call or text me at 928-300-5114. I am able and happy to assist you. Rutury has a very, very busy schedule with Sessions, Ceremonies, & Personal work as well as his work with the Elders; it would be most appreciated if you please use me as your contact. I will direct any information or requests to Rutury. A note from Anaya: When we became aware that we needed to change the venue for the July Ceremony I remembered that some good friends of mine have a place in Sebastopol that would be perfect for our gathering. I went there yesterday to have a look and talk with them about our details and needs and I am happy to say that they confirmed hosting this Workshop at their beautiful property for the weekend in July! There is a meadow with lots of space for tents, as well as a fire pit. They have two huge tables outside which we can use to eat at and an indoor bathroom for everyone to use as well as a shower for those who are camping. It is a short 10-15 minute drive to the beach from their place, and they go every day and have some great recommendations for us. This gives us the security of knowing that we will be able to have a fire, which is such an important part of our Ceremony. It is also a really nice place and I’m sure you will all like it. There’s plenty of parking and a kitchen we can use. Please note: We have been asked not to bring pets. Also the rental house will be occupied during this workshop. You can check out their website: http://www.wowhausretreat.com/welcome.html If you need to get accommodations other than tent camping you can use airbnb to rent a room in the area: https://www.airbnb.com/s/Sebastopol--CA--United-States?guests=&checkin=07%2F15%2F2016&checkout=07%2F17%2F2016&ss_id=icp27wuk&source=bb&s_tag=b0lEvnaH We will be sending you more details about meal planning, etc. closer to the event. A nice place to gather on the property Large table to have our meals, grass will be trimmed. Meadow where they will be building a fire pit with log stumps around in a circle for the group to sit on. Also where the tent camping will be. The address is 885 Jonive Rd, Sebastopol CA 95472. I’m looking forward to being with you in July! Anaya Another note from Nahwi: The frames for the walls are up in the main house at the center! We are starting to see the layout grow for the living spaces. It never ceases to amaze me how this is forming in front of our eyes. From an architect’s drawings to a physical creation! I love the fact that there will be a mud room for us to remove our shoes and have a place to put them right near the main entrance. Could use that at my house if Kamu would ever take his boots off! Between him and Ed-grrr (our goofy dog) I have a lot of footprints to work on. At least we won’t have to worry about that for the center. This is the view from the mud room area by the front door. Looking out windows on other side This will be the door to the dining of front door. room looking out to the patio by the pool. Other news for Indios Huichol I also have some very exciting news. Amazon Handmade has accepted Indios Huichol to present the Wixarika (Huichol) peoples’ work. These will be the same items we have on our website. There is a small glitch at the moment and Amazon has their support team working on the problem. So please stay tuned for word when this will be launched! Also I have been given more inventory to photograph and place on the website. Guess we won’t we using our dining room table for awhile. (Personally I would rather gorgeous bead work on it than dinner dishes!) I just love seeing the new pieces and trying to capture their unique beauty and amazing spirit. Really, a photograph can’t do this work proper justice, but I still try. The part that takes a lot of time is measuring the beaded jewelry. My old eyes are not as sharp as they use to be….I need bigger print on the ruler! But I can always see the amazing colors and designs the Wixarika use with their wonderful work. June Blessing Ceremony in Sebastopol There will be a Blessing Ceremony with Rutury in Sebastopol on Saturday June 4th.
The location is Hessel Grange, 5400 Blank Rd. Sebastopol CA 95472. This is the same venue we used for the New Years Ceremony. The Ceremony will be from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
