Greetings Every One!
A note from Rutury:

My prayers are; May all your resolutions be the first steps to make you aware that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. As long as you have dedication and commitment in your heart all is possible. Remember when we make a change in our life it will also affect our loved ones, some of them will be okay and others will not. Therefore it is important to teach our loved ones, when change comes in at unexpected times and disrupts everyone it is hard to be logical.  Pain is so unbearable, confusing and we lose focus, therefore we cannot expect any change.  That is when we must take time to listen and see our elements. Every year they also go through changes, it is not easy for them yet they are in harmony keeping our Earth in balance.
             
It is with that thought I reflect back to my tribal (Huichol) Wixarika elders, where they said to remind all of you who attended our last ceremony in Jaichima’s house: Remember the stepping stones that lead you enter into the sacred TUKI? (Shrine/small house for prayers and ceremonies) And how challenging it was when you found out the sacred TUKI was to be demolish, that change was hard for all of you. I know it was for me.
 
It is with that concept we must make the change as our future depends on how we weave ourselves into it. It is no longer us against everyone; it is time for all of us to come together as a human tribe to make a change in our world.
 
Every time I meet new people it feels like I met them already some time ago. Therefore I say to you, welcome to the human tribe.
 
Thank you all of you who have known me for so many years, your support is vital to who I am and I treasure our connection deep as the ocean, wide as the universe.

As you can see, this month’s Newsletter is a little later than normal.  We wanted to wait until the New Year Workshop was over so we could let those of us who could
  not attend know how it went.

As you can see, it was a wonderful gathering.  I hope to have more details soon and will include it in the next newsletter as well as the Ceremony in New Mexico. 

I celebrated at home by preparing prayers and candles for Kamu, myself and those we love.  I am always so astounded when I do my candles that there are so many wonderful people and animals in my life!  It really has become a time for me to count and honor my blessings. While I love and miss the hustle and bustle (and direction) of the workshop, I have found a deep and profound connection in myself and my prayers through my candles to my many loved ones. I find the memories of individuals and what they have and are going through this year shine as bright as the flame of their candles for me. And through my candles I feel a connection with them that can’t be severed, because it is the strong fine thread of love, heart to heart. So while we may feel sad that we could not be at a workshop, we still have other, just as powerful ways to connect with each other.  So, on that note I send loving prayers for a new year filled with love, compassion, healing, & joy for us all.
 
Ceremony at Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch
 
On Sunday January 3, 2016 after the closing of the New Years Workshop Rutury had another Ceremony he was asked to do.  Our own Tuli (Edie) is on the Board of Directors for the Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch.  The land for this sanctuary was just recently acquired and Tuli spoke to the rest of the board and requested a blessing ceremony be done.  They saw the importance of starting this endeavor with a sacred blessing ceremony and Rutury was happy to be a part of it.   One of the participants is an amazing photographer.  Her name is Emma K. July Workshop Information
 
We have reserved a spot for the July Workshop Commemorating the 4th Anniversary of Jaichima’s passing. It is so exciting to think of being together for this.
The dates are Friday July 15 through Sunday July 17th.  The Camping area for those in tents is at Salt Point State Park 25050 Highway One, Jenner CA 95450.  The web site is http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=453  

We have reserved the group camping area for people in tents.  There is room for 40 people in this camp and we have 32 people who have signed up so far for tent camping. Please be advised that there is only parking for 10 cars for the group camping area and we will need to co-ordinate ride sharing.   We have 7 people who will attend but do not wish to camp in a tent.  They do have trailer sites and one can reserve them for this event, however it fills up fast and they recommend reservations as soon as possible because it is a very popular area. The online reservations are open for July right now. The phone number is 707-847-3221.  

Other accommodations are available in the area for those who do not wish to camp in a tent.  Trip Advisor has some suggestions.  Please check out the site at      http://www.tripadvisor.com/HotelsNear-g32540-d156597-Salt_Point_State_Park-Jenner_Sonoma_County_California.html  People who choose this option will be responsible for their own reservations and costs for their accommodations. This would include anyone who would be camping in a trailer; the trailer site reservation calendar for July is now open and we understand the spots do go quickly, again that site is;  http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=453    

The cost of the Workshop will be $250 per person regardless of your choice of accommodations.

We will gather on Friday July 15th after 2:00 PM and the Workshop will continue throughout the weekend until noon on Sunday July 17th.  Rutury requests that all participants be present for the Ceremony on Friday evening. The Elders will be doing their ceremony simultaneously in Mexico throughout the weekend as well.

In this Ceremony we will be honoring the four elements, as Jaichima’s fourth anniversary dictates in the Wixarika tradition. There will be an all night fire vigil on Saturday night, after Rutury shares with us a message from the Elders. Participants have the choice to sit by the fire for whatever amount of time they feel drawn to be there.

There will be more details about the weekend when we get closer to the event, like food preparations, what else to expect, what to bring, etc. 

This ceremony is open to everyone who wants to attend, whether they knew Jaichima or whether they are new to our Ceremonies and Workshops.

The Elders have been encouraging Rutury to conduct Ceremonies in a more natural environment, away from the electronic world with all the conveniences we are accustomed to. They are encouraging us as a group to return to the ‘old days’ of camping while being in Ceremony. Some of you remember those days very well!

Rutury is looking forward to being in this environment again with the participants.
